Ukrainian equity category: We would like to encourage presentations on contemporary topics on Ukraine, such as the environment, effects of the war, opportunities for restoration. Therefore, accepted abstract authors on the aforementioned topics as well as Ukrainian participants are enabled an equity registration fee of 200€ to provide a forum for discussing these essential matters.

Where? University of Tartu Botanical Garden. The University of Tartu Botanical Garden has been in continuous operation on the same site for 220 years. It has a rich history and is an exceptionally species-rich area - nearly 10,000 plant species and varieties from different climates around the world grow on 3.2 hectares.
What is going to happen? It is an event for all conference participants to mingle and break the ice. Some snacks and drinks will be served.

Where? Lodjakoda (barge hall). Lodjakoda is a one-of-a-kind venue in Tartu. It is a home for a group of enthusiasts who renovate historical ships. The welcome reception will take place in the rooms where they renovate the ships so you can have a look at the real workshop.
What is going to happen? Meet and greet your new and old friends together with snacks and drinks. There will be a performance introducing Estonian culture.

Where? AHHAA science centre. It is a place where science is introduced to public through interactive technology. You will be in the middle of science!
What is going to happen? Dinner with a three-course meal will be served. There will be a musical performance as well.

EXCURSIONS

If you can make a select for tours/excursions during the registration process, you are welcome to make a registration for these. If these are full, selection will automatically close.
Please note that the tours take place when the minimum number of participants is reached. If the tour gets cancelled, we will direct you to your preference 2 and we will inform you about the change.

We have included one-day and half-day excursions in the attendance fee because we consider them an important part of the conference program allowing you to discuss restoration opportunities directly on sites. We strongly encourage everybody to take part in both one-day and half-day excursions.

DIETARY PREFERENCES

If you have any preferences regarding the food that is served at the conference, you are welcome to let us know here.

We make sure that the catering throughout the conference is sustainable, most options being vegetarian. In case meat or fish are served, they comply with the sustainable food guide prepared by the Estonian Fund for Nature - the "food traffic light" system. Read more about it here.

According to the decision of the Republic of Estonia, visas are not issued for participants from Belarus and Russia.

An official Letter of Invitation to obtain a Visa and authorization to attend the SERE 2024 event in Tartu, Estonia will be issued ONLY after a completed registration form, hotel booking if necessary and full payment has been received. Letters of Invitation will not be given to parties not registered and paid in full. 
All Letters of Invitation will be issued at the discretion of the event organizers. All expenses incurred concerning the delegate’s attendance at the event are the delegate's sole responsibility, and the event organizers hold no responsibility for the outcome of an individual’s visa application.
In case of visa refusal, we`ll refund the registration fee in the full amount (minus the administration fee of 50€) based on the written proof of visa refusal one month before the event.

Please note: As the summer is a busy time at consulates and embassies, if you require a visa to enter the Schengen zone, please start the process 3 months earlier. Conference participants can apply for a business visa (https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/business-schengen-visa/), which requires an invitation letter from Delegate Services.

If you choose online payment (payment by credit card), you will be directed to the website of the online payment service provider Everypay and the invoice will be sent to you automatically after successful payment. For the payment you will need credit card with you and you need to insert the data from the credit card to make a successful payment. We do not send out separate receipts for the payment, the confirmation from Everypay and invoice are the proof of the payment.

If you select payment by bank transfer, the invoice will be automatically sent to you via e-mail together with the confirmation letter and you can then pay by bank transfer or forward the invoice to your organisation for payment.
